Five services.
One pharmacy.
Total care.

Every service MyCare Rx offers exists because a real gap existed in how Indianapolis patients were being served. Here is exactly what we provide, how each service works, and who it is designed for.

Prescription
Refills

Getting a refill should take minutes, not your morning. At MyCare Rx, we've built the refill process around your schedule — not ours.

Whether you've been filling with us for years or are transferring from another pharmacy for the first time, we handle every refill with the same care: a pharmacist reviews your full medication profile before dispensing, checks for any interactions with new prescriptions, and flags anything that needs your doctor's attention before it becomes a problem.

We offer three ways to request a refill — online, by phone, or in person — and two ways to receive it: pickup at 3141 E Thompson Road, or same-day delivery anywhere in the Indianapolis area. No hold music. No three-step automated phone trees.

What's included
  • Online, phone, and in-person refill requests
  • Pharmacist clinical review before every fill
  • Same-day pickup or delivery across Indianapolis
  • Doctor outreach when refills require a new prescription
  • Insurance billing and coverage verification
  • Refill reminder outreach before you run out

Medication
Counseling

Most medication errors don't happen at the pharmacy. They happen at home — because a patient wasn't told how to take their medication correctly, or didn't feel comfortable asking.

Medication counseling at MyCare Rx is a direct conversation between you and our pharmacist, available at every new prescription fill and whenever you have questions about your medications. We explain what each medication does, how and when to take it, what side effects to watch for, what to avoid while taking it, and what to do if you miss a dose.

We also review any over-the-counter medications or supplements you're taking alongside your prescriptions — because interactions don't only happen between prescription drugs, and most patients aren't warned about this until something goes wrong.

What we cover in counseling
  • Purpose and mechanism of your medication in plain language
  • Dosing schedule, timing, and food or drink interactions
  • Common and serious side effects to monitor
  • Interactions with other prescriptions, OTCs, and supplements
  • What to do if you miss a dose or experience a reaction
  • When to follow up with your doctor
Ask a Pharmacist
Common questions patients ask
Can I take this with ibuprofen?
Drug interactions with common OTCs are one of the most frequently missed risks. We check this for every patient at every fill.
Why does this need to be taken with food?
Certain medications absorb better with food, or cause nausea without it. We explain the reason, not just the instruction.
I feel fine — do I still need to take this?
Many medications for chronic conditions work precisely because you're taking them consistently, even when symptoms aren't visible.
Is it safe to split this tablet?
Some medications have special coatings or extended-release mechanisms that make splitting dangerous. We'll tell you clearly.

03 Preventive Care

Immunizations &
Vaccinations

Prevention is the most underused tool in healthcare. MyCare Rx makes it easier to stay protected — no doctor's appointment, no waiting weeks for availability.

Our licensed pharmacist is certified to administer a full range of immunizations, from seasonal flu shots to travel vaccines. Most are available walk-in during regular business hours, and many are covered by insurance at no out-of-pocket cost under the Affordable Care Act's preventive care provisions.

We also maintain vaccination records and can provide documentation for work, school, or travel requirements. If you're unsure which vaccines you need — based on your age, health history, or travel plans — our pharmacist will walk you through the CDC's recommended schedule and answer every question you have before administering anything.

Vaccines we administer
  • Influenza (flu shot) — seasonal, available annually
  • COVID-19 — updated formulations as available
  • Shingles (Shingrix) — recommended 50+
  • Pneumonia (Prevnar, Pneumovax) — recommended 65+
  • Tdap / Tetanus booster
  • Hepatitis A & B — call ahead to confirm availability
  • Travel vaccines — call ahead for availability and timing

05 Comprehensive Review

Medication Therapy
Management

When you're taking multiple medications — prescribed by different doctors, over many years — the risk of something falling through the cracks is real. MTM exists to close that gap.

Medication Therapy Management (MTM) is a structured one-on-one session between you and our pharmacist in which every medication you take — prescription, over-the-counter, vitamin, and supplement — is reviewed comprehensively. We look for drug interactions, duplications, inappropriate dosing, medications that may no longer be necessary, and opportunities to simplify your regimen.

At the end of your session, you receive a Personal Medication Record — a complete, organized list of all your medications with dosing instructions — and a Medication Action Plan, which outlines any changes or follow-ups we recommend. A summary is shared with your doctor if you consent.

MTM is particularly valuable for patients over 65, patients managing multiple chronic conditions, and anyone whose medication list has grown significantly over time. Most Medicare Part D plans cover MTM at no cost to eligible patients.

What you receive
  • Comprehensive Medication Review (CMR) — full list reviewed in session
  • Personal Medication Record (PMR) — organized list for your records
  • Medication Action Plan (MAP) — recommended changes and follow-ups
  • Interaction and duplication screening across all medications
  • Prescriber communication summary (with your consent)
  • Follow-up check-ins as part of ongoing care coordination
