Our Commitment

MyCare Rx is committed to making our website and pharmacy services accessible to everyone, regardless of disability, assistive technology, or method of access. Accessibility is not an afterthought — it is part of how we deliver care.

As a healthcare provider, MyCare Rx serves patients of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to pharmacy services and health information — and that includes people who use assistive technologies, have visual or cognitive impairments, or rely on keyboard navigation.

This Accessibility Statement describes the current state of accessibility on mycarerxin.com, the standards we target, the features we have implemented, known limitations, and how to contact us if you encounter any barriers.

02

Accessibility Standards

MyCare Rx targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility and the baseline required under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for healthcare websites.

WCAG 2.1 is organized around four core principles — content must be:

  • Perceivable — information and interface components must be presentable in ways users can perceive
  • Operable — interface components and navigation must be operable by all users
  • Understandable — information and operation of the interface must be understandable
  • Robust — content must be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies

We are actively working to meet all Level AA success criteria. Where full conformance has not yet been achieved, we document known limitations below and provide accessible alternatives.

03

Accessibility Features

The following accessibility features are implemented or targeted on mycarerxin.com:

Semantic HTML structure
Pages use semantic HTML5 elements (nav, main, section, header, footer) to provide logical document structure for screen readers.
Keyboard navigation
All interactive elements — links, buttons, form fields, accordions — are accessible and operable via keyboard alone.
Sufficient color contrast
Text and interactive elements are designed to meet or exceed the WCAG 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
Scalable text
Font sizes are set in relative units and the layout supports text scaling up to 200% without loss of content or function.
Descriptive link text
Links use descriptive text that makes sense out of context, avoiding generic phrases like "click here" throughout the site.
Form labels and instructions
All form fields have visible labels. Required fields and optional fields are clearly marked. Error states provide descriptive messages.
Responsive design
The site adapts to all screen sizes from mobile to desktop without loss of content, function, or readability.
No motion requirements
Scroll animations are handled with IntersectionObserver and degrade gracefully. No content depends on motion to be understood.
04

Known Limitations

While we work toward full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, we are aware of the following current limitations:

  • Map placeholder — the map section on our Contact page currently uses a static placeholder visual. A fully accessible embedded map with proper ARIA labels is planned for a future update.
  • PDF documents — any downloadable documents linked from this site (such as vaccination records) may not currently meet full PDF accessibility requirements. Call us at (317) 879-5514 for accessible alternatives.
  • Skip navigation — a "skip to main content" link is not yet implemented on all pages. This is scheduled for the next update cycle.
  • ARIA live regions — dynamic form success states may not announce to all screen readers reliably. We are testing and improving this behavior.

We are actively addressing these limitations. If you encounter a barrier not listed here, please contact us — your feedback directly informs our improvement priorities.
